Early this month, former Notre Dame/UAB running back, Greg Bryant, and a passenger were found by West Palm Beach Police shot in a car in the early hours of the morning. Bryant later passed away from his wounds and the shooting was officially ruled a homicide.
How the incident happened
A nightclub owner, Boston, tells police he may have some helpful evidence that could possible find the suspect of the Bryant shooting. Boston gave police surveillance video of the night Bryant attended his nightclub after he found something suspicious.
According to USA TODAY,
In the video, Bryant was basically enjoying his night in the nightclub with a group of men in the VIP section between the hours of 3:00am-4:30am. Then, Boston cued up the video footage of what he described as a “suspicious” white Nissan Altima outside the club.
A heavyset man circled the car, tapped on the driver’s window and later climbed into the driver’s seat as Bryant prepared to leave the club. Bryant, behind the driver’s wheel of his stepfather’s black four-door Chrysler, pulled off the lot and turned right onto South Military Trail at 4:30 a.m. About 30 seconds later, the white Altima headed the same way.
At about 4:45 a.m., police said, an unknown assailant fired several times into Bryant’s vehicle, killing Bryant and injuring a 25-year-old friend of Bryant’s who was in the passenger’s seat.
A close friend of Bryant, Marcus Fulmore says,
“If he felt like something was about to happen or he felt awkward being around a whole bunch of people and he felt something bad, he would leave,’’ Fulmore said. “He woudn’t put himself in that predicament.’’
The person responsible for the murder is still currently at large and no arrest have been made as of yet in the investigation of the killing of Greg Bryant. More than 1,500 friends and family attended Bryant’s funeral in nearby Delray Beach on Saturday.
