Residents in Imo State Capital weep over demolition of structures

In Imo State Capital today, the people are wailing and criticizing the government over the demolition of structures as a prelude to the planned expansion of some roads in the state capital.
The demolition of structures started along the Amakohia/Akwakuma axis. Several ancestral homes, residential buildings, business, desecration of Graves, a part of the premises of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Akwakuma, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and several others.
Not left behind, were bank premises, state headquarters of the PDP and residential home of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho.
Also establishments like the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE) and Federal Medical Centre also suffered same fate.
The implication of destruction of the parts of AIFCE, the students of the school stormed the of Owerri in protest. Although the students pleaded to Gov Okorocha not to destroy the school any further but unfortunately, all their pleas fell on deaf ears as another structure of the school was being demolished.
However, the students have vowed to do everything possible to ensure the government does not destroy the pedestrian bridge, perimeter fence, gate and other parts of the school. Some of the placards carried by the students during protest read: "Okorocha, spare our pedestrian bridge",  "Okorocha cannot destroy the beauty of our College and security of students", "Okorocha leave us alone and continue your demolition exercise elsewhere ", and" Okorocha please don't provoke us".
