On 17th of July, 3 persons died from gas explosion and 12 others are lying in a critical condition at a medical facility in the state. This incident took place about 7 a.m. on Sunday at their residents, 32, Osazuwa Street, off Benin Agbor road Edo State.

A witness and only survivor of the incident, who identified herself as Juliet Chimobi said that the cooking gas fell inside the apartment of a neighbor, Steven Ebonyi and exploded. She also said that when the incident occurred, occupants of the house ran out and we're warned not to light any fire. She said further
“At this point, I refused to move in with my neighbours. But before I knew it, they all ran out again shouting fire, fire, fire. “I later discovered that one of our neighbours, who had put on cooking fire in his apartment, opened his door, which apparently ignited the gas. “The matter was made worse for the victims, who tried to escape through the exit door, which could not be opened.”
