Star Actress, Kate Henshaw weeps for baby Michael

Right at the moment, Nollywood star Actress, Kate Henshaw is sad over the way doctors on strike at LUTH had abandoned baby Michael in the hospital. The Actress visited the baby who was diagnosed with Ulcerated Infected Facial Haemangioma at Idi Araba on Monday, unknowingly to her, the doctors had embarked on a strike due to lack of increased salary. Read below what she said concerning after the visit;

"So I went for my usual visit to LUTH to see baby Michael at the hospital, unbeknownst to me there has been a strike action for the past 3 weeks!!! The nurses and resident doctors are not working. Patients have had to leave whether healed or not...coupled with the constant lack of electricity.
Tears welled up inside me.... I tried to hold. My heart is heavy but I won't give up just yet....
Baby Michael and one other baby are the only ones left here. We're going to move him out of here and find ways for his condition to be monitored as an out patient... It is not going to be easy but we believe God that our labour of love will not be in vain. Just continue to pray along with us....
It is really a sad thing when we do not value human life in our nation - Nigeria. The total lack of basic and qualitative health care in this country is appalling.
That some can afford to travel out of the country in minutes (including me) doesn't mean we forget those who cannot.
I'm using this platform to call on the management of LUTH to end this strike so that patients can get the necessary treatment. The working conditions are a huge challenge but the nurses and doctors try to do their best in this circumstances. A part of the Hippocratic Oath says "treat the ill to the best of one's ability". "
