Aisha Buhari donates relief materials to IDPs in Borno

The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, on Sunday, donated food and other items to additional 800 internally displaced persons in Borno.

Mrs. Buhari, who was represented in Maiduguri by the wife of governor of Borno, Nana Shettima, explained that the gesture was part of her Future Assured Humanitarian Activities to assist the poor in the society. “God loves charity givers and givers never lack. This I believe should serve as a word of expression to people who give the little they have to the plight of the needy,” Mrs Shettima said.

“The wife of the President and President Muhammadu Buhari have shown us true compassion and political will towards the plight of our people who have passed through great hardship. “We also commend the president for bringing relative peace to our dear state. People are now going about their socio-economic activities without any fear.”

Mrs. Buhari called on the people to be their brother’s keeper in the spirit of Ramadan and appealed to traders, businessmen and women to make life more meaningful for the poor and under-privileged members of the society.
