Odell Beckham, Jr. Talks Being Famous, “Be careful what you asked for”

The New York Giants’ 2-time Pro Bowler, Odell Beckham, Jr. has taken over the NFL with his mind-blowing receptions
while also being one of the most talked about athletes in professional sports. Beckham, Jr. spoke to the media recently on his thoughts before hitting the fame button in one of the biggest markets in the world to now having some discomfort with always being in the spotlight.
According to NJ.com, Beckham says,
“I remember coming into the league, there were guys like Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans, I wanted to be talked about the way they were talked about,” Beckham said after the Giants’ first practice of their three-day mandatory minicamp.

“I tell people now, ‘Be careful what you ask for,’ because I used to crave that, I used to want to be talked about, and people to know what I’m capable of. And now, people want to know everything. They want to know each and every detail.”
“I think things like to just pop up and get displayed,” added Beckham, who used the word “hate” about the off-field attention he receives because “it causes so much distraction for my team and my teammates.”
With Beckhman, Jr. most recently spotted with Khloe Kardashian at an event, and also being tied to Amber Rose, his off the field actions can be very interesting as his professional career rises, just as a Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson. Although, the distractions can add up, staying focused on the team should be most important.
Just to compare Beckham, Jr. to another superstar athlete, LeBron James. During the NBA Playoffs, LeBron shuts down all social media activity to focus of his vision on the intensity of the playoffs. Beckham, Jr. should take note and learn how to focus on the positives rather than the negatives in his short journey in the NFL. Take in all in kid, you’ve got a LONG way to go.
