Karim, a PDP lawmaker prevented from flying out of the country


A member of the House of Representatives was prevented from flying out of the country yesterday.
Sunday Karim is a member of the House of Reps, who represents Yagba East and West Federal Constituency of Kogi state at the National Assembly.   Karim was billed to leave for the US via an Air France flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja when he was stopped by the officials of the Department of State Security DSS and his passport seized. The DSS claimed to be acting on orders of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 

Karim who is also a PDP lawmaker said he was not informed that he was being trailed by the DSS. He said when he inquired why he was stopped from flying, he was told that the EFCC asked the DSS to stop him. Karim said the EFCC had never written to him informing him that they were investigating him.
