Bucs Rookie Files Complaint Against Police Department

Tampa Bay Bucs rookie, Dominique Robertson, was shot multiple times in the early hours of the morning on June 30th. Now another tragic killing of two African American men occurred this week.

According to ESPN,
Robertson, 21, was standing outside an apartment complex in Loma Linda, California, and talking to a friend at around 3 a.m. Thursday when a vehicle pulled up and shot in his direction, according to his attorney, Zulu Ali. San Bernardino Police said Robertson was shot twice in the leg.
During Robertson’s questioning at the police station, his lawyer is claiming that his client was denied access to water, his attorney and medication when detained in custody of the police.
Robertson’s attorney also says,
“We were terribly concerned about Mr. Robertson’s welfare and the blatant disregard for his rights, health, and safety,” Ali said in a statement provided to ESPN. “Not allowing his attorney access to check on his welfare, and denying him water, medication, and access to medical attention was abuse on the part of the Sheriff’s department.”
Robertson’s attorney states that he feels his client was targeted as a suspect of a crime rather than a victim. When his client invoked his rights, he was totally ignored. Robertson is expected to make a full recovery from his gunshot wounds suffered in the incident. The Tampa Bay Bucs start the team’s first summer training camp on July 25.
