Security agents have taken over the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party located at Wadata Plaza to forestall a break down of law and order. Armed policemen and officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps were seen patrolling the vicinity and restricting movements into and out of the complex.
Only on Thursday, rival groups clashed leaving a few persons with injuries. Dozens of youths believed to be supporters of the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Working Committee of the party. An official of the NSCDC who was one of the security officials in duty said they had instructions not to allow people into the building.
